12 night Classic Guided Tour

Unearth the hidden gem of Africa by exploring the beautiful, breath-taking landscapes of Botswana. In addition to being home to the ‘Big 5’, Botswana offers the opportunity to marvel at some of the rarest wildlife and birdlife, living in their natural habitat.

Day 1                        Arrival

Upon arrival at Maun Airport, you will be met by a representative from Sense of Africa, who will assist with your transfer onto the next leg of your journey by light aircraft to Tau Pan Camp in the Central Kalahari Game Reserve.

Day 1 & 2               Tau Pan Camp

As the first semi-permanent camp in the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, Tau Pan Camp is environmentally sensitive with 100% solar power and water pumped from under the Kalahari sands. The eight well-appointed tents feature comfortable beds, an outdoor shower and a private deck each overlooking a permanent waterhole. Wildlife is regularly seen from the comfort of the camp, but can be explored further on game drives.

Day 3 & 4              Pom Pom Camp

After breakfast you will depart via scheduled air transfer for a two night stay in the Okavango Delta.

Overlooking a lagoon in a private concession, the Pom Pom Camp is located on the western border of the game rich Moremi Game reserve. The nine large luxury safari tents provide a comfortable setting to enjoy the abundance of birdlife and variety of game. Activities offered include game drives, night drives, canoe excursions, boat cruises and game walks.

Day 5 & 6               Machaba Camp

After breakfast you will depart Pom Pom Camp with a light aircraft for a two night stay at the Machaba Camp. In an idyllic setting on the eastern tongue of the Okavango Delta, Machaba Camp has the prolific wildlife of the game rich Khwai area on its doorstep.

Accommodation is in 10 luxury tents, where your morning starts watching the elephants and hippos bathing in the river from you veranda. Days are rounded off with a delicious meal served in the dining area or cooling off in the inviting swimming pool. Activities include game drives in the Moremi Game Reserve and canoe (mokoro) excursions along the waterways of the Delta

Day 7 & 8               Lebala Camp

After breakfast and the morning game activity, depart Machaba Camp by scheduled air transfer for the Kwando Concession and a two night stay at Lebala Camp. Lebala has eight spacious tents set on raised decks with views of the wide-open plains and overlooking the Linyanti marshes, affording a perfect view of the assorted game coming in for a drink.

The main camp consists of a lounge, bar, raised-deck dining room, swimming pool and a social fire pit for guests to gather around. Activities on offer include game drives, night drives and nature walks (at the guide’s discretion due to the high volume of large herbivores such as elephant).

Day 9 & 10            Muchenje Safari Lodge

After breakfast take a scheduled transfer by light aircraft from Lebala to Kasane Airport for Muchenje Safari Lodge. Situated in the Chobe Forest Reserve on the western edge of the Chobe National Park, activities at Muchenje include game drives, nature walks or a sunset boat cruise down the Chobe River.

Day 11 & 12         Chobe Princesses

After breakfast, you will be transferred from Muchenje Safari Lodge to Botswana Immigration, then onwards by boat to Namibia Immigration and the Chobe Princesses, located along the banks of the Chobe River. These upmarket houseboats offer contemporary cabins, each with a view onto the ever-changing landscape as you drift down the Chobe River.

Please note: Guests will be required to comply with Botswana and Namibia immigration formalities on arrival and departure.
