Day 1: Arrival

Flight with Air France, meals on board.

Late arrival at Ivato airport. Meet and greet, then transfer to the hotel.



Day 2: Antananarivo Diego Suarez: 1 hr flight

According to the flight schedule, transfer to the airport and fly to Diego, also named Antsiranana, the second most important port of the country. On arrival, greeting with the guide and transfer to the hotel for lunch.

Sightseeing tour of the city, with its colourful market and the large bay overlooking the Indian Ocean. After visit, back to hotel.



Day 3: DIEGO / 03 BAIES / DIEGO: 80 km (round trip) – around 1:30 hours of road (track road)

After breakfast, departure by 4×4 to reach the great bay of Diego Suarez, encountering beautiful beaches, sights and quaint fishing villages enroute. Vegetation consists predominantly of low shrubs, some baobab tree, after about an hour, arrive at the beautiful beach of Sakalava, with strong winds and a surfer’s paradise.

Continuing along the trail you will encounter the charming bay of pigeons and the Bay of Dune which offer a stunning backdrop of the Indian Ocean and some small islands. Continuing to be at the Orangea beach; possibility to swim in the clear waters and continue the excursion to the lighthouse and the fishing village of Ramena. Picnic lunch.

Back to the hotel for dinner and overnight



Day 4: DIEGO / MONTAGNE DES FRANCAIS – TSINGY ROUGE / JOFFREVILLE : 170 km – around 3 hours of road ( paved and track road)

Breakfast and departure to visit the ‘Montagne des Français’ called by the inhabitants of the region ‘Antsingy’. The Mountain covered with a dry forest and especially known by tourists for its variety of spices, baobab in particular: the adansonia suarezensis. Live-red of flamboyant, light yellow of Cassias Pachipodes they too are in decline, Euphorbes and Aloes make happy naturalists.

Back to Diego for lunch.

In the afternoon departure for the visit of Tsingy Rouge’, extraordinary limestone formations shaped finial, produced by wind erosion and rain over time, taking with striking colours the sunlight. ‘A small aperitif in the restricted area.’

After the tour transfer to Joffreville, through Joffre villas, old site ‘Fady’ (taboo) transformed by the Maréchal Joffre in the climatic health resort of the settlers Diego. Joffreville, has become almost a ghost village, despite its beautiful colonial houses, today unfortunately and sadly decadent. Dinner and overnight at hotel



Day 5 : JOFFREVILLE / MONTAGNE D’AMBRE / ANKARANA: 125 km – around 2 hours of road ( paved and track road)

Morning excursion to the National Park of the Amber Mountain, a dense primary forest covering a volcanic mountain, considered sacred to the local population: here, in the lush vegetation of tree ferns, flowing rivers that originate spectacular waterfalls, a reserve of considerable water for this part of the country. Departure by car to reach the entrance of the park and continue on foot through the rainforest where you can admire plant species and fauna: seven species of lemurs live here and more than 75 species of birds. Lunch at restaurant.

Then continue by car to Ankarana, dinner and overnight at hotel.



After breakfast, transfer by car to the Ankarana National Park and begin exploration of the site, a wild habitat of caves, underground rivers, majestic canyons, and forests inhabited by various types of lemurs; during a hike in the park you can admire the fantastic Tsingy, spectacular rock pinnacles dating from the Jurassic period, dating back about 100 million years. Packed lunch during the trip and at the end return to the hotel. Afternoon relax.

Day 7 : ANKARANA / ANKIFY / NOSY BE: ANKARANA – ANKIFY: 150 km – 3 hours (track road with holes), ANKIFY – NOSY BE: 1 hour of boat transfer

Breakfast and departure to Ankify crossing the cacao, coffee, Ylang-Ylang and pepper plantations. Stop at Millot plantation for visit and lunch.

Continuation and arrival at Ankify port. Then transfer by boat to reach Nosy. Once arrival at the port of Nosy Be Hell-ville, transfer to the hotel.

Dinner and overnight at hotel.



Day 8 : NOSY BE: Island tour (Ylang-Ylang Distillery /Lemurialand – Sacred tree – Lunch/swimming time/Sole, Climbing to Mont Passot )

Island tour of Nosy Be, Lemurialand a botanical and zoological park will almost show all existint animals in Madagascar, from the emblematic Lemurs to the microrana. The sacred tree is one of the most important spot of the local population practising traditional religion or animist, our guide will be delighted to explain you the ritual and its meanings.

After so much sacredness, put on your bathing suit and sun cream to enjoy some time on one of the most beautiful beaches of Nosy Be. You will take the lunch on spot, in a local restaurant. Then, have rest while waiting for the departure to the Mont Passot. This is the highest view-point on Nosy Be, well known for its amazing sunset.

Day 9 : NOSY BE: Lokobe reserve excursion

This finds the importance and the peculiarity of this wild corner and endemic nature of Nosy Be.

This genuine and splendid excursion is so different from the others, even with transfers you will experience it in two different ways : the first part will be by car from the hotel to the village of Ambatozavavy, a fishermen village. From there, boarding on the traditional dugout (a Malagasy traditional embarkation) and crossing to reach Lokobe entrance. On the way, you can try to sail by paddling, it looks easy however it is not the case! For sure, this will be an interesting and a funny experience for you and for those who are attending. Arrival right on the beach, the limit of this luxuriant botanical and faunistique forest of Lokobe. This amazing forest is the natural habitat of the Eulemer macaco. In this forest, the lemurs are the craftsmen of the botanical reproduction as they jump from branch to branch they are transporting the seeds of the reforestation. Knowing that this tropical rainforest is the shelter of 17 species of birds, boa and pythons, as well as the curious Mantella Betsileo or Tsirevo in its local denomination. This nocturnal frog can be observed all year long surrounding watercourse.

On the top of Lokobe about 200m, you can observe a curious tree which has aerial roots in the shape of wading bird, it blooms on December and gives fruits on March.

Lunch will be served on a bordering beach where you can sunbathe or swim.

Day 10 : NOSY BE: Komba and Tanikely excursion

A beautiful island in front of Nosy Be where lemurs are sacred. Nosy Komba is not just a crystalline sea and beautiful beaches but also an extremely interesting park which shelters endemic plants and animals. Well known also for its wood handcraft from which are built the best dugout of the whole country. The visit of Ampangorina village and its park will leave you breathless.

Tanikely is a submarine national park. The funds are well protected offering an impressive show of multicoloured life of the coral reef. You do not even need to dive in deep sea to enjoy the evolution of these numerous species of fishes, you can enjoy it right on the beach: a real natural aquarium. Have a stroll to the lighthouse and take beautiful photos lighted by this tropical sun.

Picnic seafood lunch served at a table in a pleasant beach, followed by a time for rest or for swimming under the tropical sun.

Day 13: NOSY BE –  ANTANANARIVO (domestic flight)

Breakfast and transfer at the airport to take flight for Antananarivo. Free lunch (not included).

Transfer to hotel for dinner and overnight.



Breakfast and journey dedicated for the city Tour in Antananarivo, whose original name was Analamanga (blue forest) and commonly also called ‘The City of Thousand’, name given after the conquest and defence of a thousand warriors. Established in the early seventeenth century, and inhabited by the Merina Race, which in Malagasy means those who live in the highlands, and set on 12 sacred hills, at a height of 1,200 m. and 1,500 mt. Antananarivo has about 1,600,000 inhabitants, scattered among countless typical districts and among their very different paths to multiple streets and avenues dotted with small local markets.

A visit to this capital will bring us to admire the Queen Palace ‘Rova’, now in renovation, the grand boulevard of Independence ‘the esplanade of Analakely’ with its typical old railway.

Lunch at restaurant and visit of the digue’s market the biggest market of handicrafts in the capital in the afternoon.

Transfer to the airport for the return flight.
