Serengeti Migration

The annual migration of over one million wildebeest, accompanied by zebra, gazelle and various other mammals, takes place at varying areas of the Serengeti as the herds travel in search of a new grazing ground. A spectacle not to be missed as the herds move to pastures new, they are followed by predators such as lions, hyenas, jackals and wild-dogs.

The Migration Summary:

December – March:   South and possibly Central Serengeti

February: Calving takes place during this month with thousands of  calves born within a 2 to 3 week period.

April – June:   Central and Western Serengeti

July – October:   Northern Serengeti

November:   Central Serengeti
