Lake Kivu

Lake Kivu is the largest lake with its 2,699 kilometers and is divided between Congo and Rwanda. The lake is at an altitude of 1,459 m and is the highest in Africa. Rwandans say it is the best inland beach in East Africa.

The three cities to the east on the shores of Lake Kivu: Cyangungu, Kibuye and Gisenyi offer spectacular views.
